Members, Activities and SIGs |
|
It all started about 20 years ago when Mensa Belgium-Luxembourg was founded. Initially activities were mostly in Belgium but since 1999 events took place also in the Grand-Duchy .
It really began in year 2000 with regular monthly meetings (every last Thursday of the month) with interesting and diverse themes. The first SIG (Special Interest Group) was set in February 2000 and we launched our own Internet site in May of the same year.
In December 2000 Mensa Luxembourg was founded and become an autonomous National Group. |

Mensa Luxembourg accounts for almost 80 Members.
In addition to these regular meetings they share other events.
There is also the possibility for Members to initiate specific groups (SIG) whenever sharing an specific interest. Actually the are two SIGs:

We meet once a month at 7PM in the neighbourhoods of Luxembourg City to examine and discuss diverse interesting themes, serious and funny, from guest speakers or presented by our Members. The audience is multi-cultural and multilingual, representing a mixture of social backgrounds. The atmosphere is very relaxed but at the same time enriching and inspirational. After the meeting most Members go to a nearby restaurant and have dinner together. |

Mensa Luxembourg wishes to attract new Members and develop many interesting activities as well as new SIGs. In addition Mensa wants to do more to help an support gifted children. |
